James Mancuso, Tenor
Tenor James A. Mancuso debuts at Soundview Opera Long Island! A graduate of Florida Southern College, Mancuso recently completed his second season as a Studio Artist with Florida Grand Opera, following four seasons as both an Apprentice and Studio Artist with Sarasota Opera. Additional young artist engagements include Central City Opera and Bel Cantanti Opera.
Originally trained as a baritone, Mancuso transitioned to tenor in 2020 and has since performed an expanding repertoire of leading and supporting tenor roles. Recent appearances include Peter Quint in The Turn of the Screw, Don José in Carmen with Varna International, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Pang in Turandot, Kronprinz in Silent Night, Gonzalve in L'heure espagnole, and Le Remendado in Carmen. Additional credits include Joe in La fanciulla del West, Lippo Fiorentino in Street Scene, and Alfred in Die Fledermaus. As he continues to develop his career, Mancuso remains dedicated to bringing compelling storytelling and musical generosity to audiences on and off the operatic stage.
